Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Meet the Atlanta Team Behind Hadley Chimney Atlanta

Hadley Chimney Atlanta has been working on Atlanta chimneys since 2003, and the crew we send to your door is the reason people keep calling us back. We’re based right here in the metro area, which means we know what Georgia humidity does to mortar, what pine-heavy burning seasons do to flue walls, and why a Buckhead fireplace behaves differently than one in East Atlanta. Every technician who wears our uniform is background-checked, trained on the materials we trust, and held to one thing above all else: do the job right, document it, and stand behind it. No exceptions.

Our People

Cory Mitchell, Owner

Cory started Hadley Chimney Atlanta in 2003 after spending the early part of his career apprenticing with masonry and hearth contractors across the Southeast. He’s the one who sets the technical standard for every job, from flashing (the metal seal where the chimney meets the roof) to firebox repair (the chamber where the fire actually burns). Cory still rides along on complex liner replacements and HeatShield applications, because he’d rather see a difficult repair with his own eyes than hear about it secondhand. Ask him about the time a Decatur homeowner’s chimney turned out to have three abandoned flues and a family of squirrels, and you’ll understand why he insists on camera inspections before quoting anything. He’s direct, he explains trade terms plainly, and he won’t recommend a repair he wouldn’t pay for himself.

Marcus T., Lead Technician

Marcus has been with Hadley Chimney Atlanta for nine years and runs most of our sweep and inspection appointments across the north metro, from Sandy Springs down through Midtown. He’s CSIA-certified and handles the bulk of our DuraFlex liner installations, which means he’s spent a lot of hours working in tight attic spaces and on steep roof pitches that would make most people reconsider their career choices. Marcus is particular about documentation, and he’s the one who pushed us to standardize before-and-after photos on every single job, not just the big repairs. On weekends he restores old motorcycles, which is probably why he’s so patient with stubborn damper assemblies.

Elena S., Senior Installer & Repair Specialist

Elena joined the crew six years ago after working in commercial HVAC, and she’s our go-to for gas fireplace service and repair across the Atlanta area. She handles everything from thermocouple replacements to full firebox rebuilds, and she’s certified to work with Copperfield and Olympia Chimney components. Elena’s the one you’ll see on calls where a homeowner has been told by someone else that they need a full rebuild, and she takes a certain satisfaction in finding a repair that actually solves the problem for a fraction of that quote. She lives in Grant Park and knows more about 1920s-era chimney construction than most people know about their own street.

Devon R., Service Coordinator & Apprentice Field Tech

Devon is usually the first voice you hear when you call Hadley Chimney Atlanta, since our phones are answered by a live person around the clock, every day of the week. He’s been with us for three years, splitting his time between scheduling and riding along with Marcus and Elena as an apprentice technician. That dual role means Devon understands both sides of the job, what you’re describing on the phone and what it actually looks like from a rooftop in College Park or a basement furnace room in Cabbagetown. He’s working toward his own CSIA certification and has developed a reputation around the shop for remembering every customer’s name and every chimney’s quirks.

One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works under The Relay Standard, which is the operating baseline for every business in the Relay Home Co. family. That means you get live arrival tracking before the tech pulls up, before-and-after photo documentation on every visit, and a written price before any work starts. When Marcus sweeps a chimney in Brookhaven or Elena repairs a gas fireplace in Virginia-Highland, they follow the same process, the same documentation, and the same guarantee. We’re independently owned and operated, not a franchise, so Cory can hold every tech to a standard he’s personally been building since 2003. That’s the whole point of The Relay Visibility Guarantee: you never have to guess who’s showing up, what they did, or what it cost. You know, because we show you.
